The folks at opensecrets.org, from the nonprofit Center for Responsive Politics, will take their commitment to following the money through the political process to the masses at noon ET on Wednesday when several of the center’s directors and writers will answer questions about money and lobbying in health care reform during a live chat. The site provides several tools useful to journalists, including databases of campaign contributions and other financial disclosures.

The group also recently released a “Health Care Cheat Sheet” which breaks down health care lobbying spending by party, industry, year and political motivation.

  2. Please research Healthcare reform with an open mind. If you are on the left try and view it from right and vice versa. Here are the facts:
We pay more than TWICE what other countries pay for healthcare and receive less. We don’t cover everyone and we don’t have better health statistics.
We cannot keep the same course with healthcare to take up 100% of the tax revenue by 2019.
Capitalism and medicine does not work. No other country has it and we’ve tried it but it does not work.
Healthcare costs on our businesses are keeping our products and services from being price competitive. Businesses will either be forced to move off shore to survive or we give them tax incentives to stay at home. Once again that tax revenue lost is shouldered by you and I.
People just don’t understand and think that this does not affect them if they are working and have insurance. It could not be farther from the truth. It will affect all of us and we will look at this again in 10 years when we are forced to.
We will be so far behind and our businesses will have suffered to the point that we struggle for our very survival as a nation.
