Apply for the AHCJ-CDC Health Journalism Fellowships

The AHCJ-CDC Health Journalism Fellowships will expose the selected journalists to sessions on epidemiology, global disease prevention efforts, pandemic flu preparedness, climate change, vaccine safety, obesity, autism and more. Fellows will tour the CDC director’s National Emergency Operations Center, meet new sources on policy and research and learn how to tap the agency’s abundant resources to produce better stories. The training will take place Feb. 8-13, 2009, at CDC’s Atlanta and Chamblee campuses.

Include a cover letter briefly telling about yourself, explaining why you are applying for this fellowship.
Attach a current resume.
Attach a short letter of recommendation from a current supervisor. The letter should comment on your strengths and the likelihood that you and your employer will benefit from the fellowship. The letter should pledge the organization will support the applicant attending this weeklong training session (dates of training are Feb. 8-13, 2009).
Freelance applicants should include a recommendation from an assigning editor or client.
Attach a copy of one story you published or aired since Jan. 1, 2008. (Broadcasters may include a CD or DVD.)
